Introduction

THE 11TH YEOSU ACADEMY OF THE LAW OF THE SEA, 2024
The Yeosu Academy of the Law of the Sea provides education and training on ocean law and maritime affairs for emerging thought leaders from developing nations to better address maritime challenges.

In this year, the Ninth Session of Yeosu Academy will be held from 23 October 3 November 2022 in Yeosu, Korea (Republic of). In order to participate this year of the Yeosu Academy Session, an online application should be submitted in the period from 10 July to 20 August 2023 through the webpage of Yeosu Academy. The Yeosu Academy of the Law of the Sea is an initiative, as a part of the Yeosu Project that inherited the spirit of the EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea as well as the Yeosu Declaration, which aims to provide education and training on ocean affairs to developing countries to cope with their maritime challenges. The Yeosu Academy offers a two-week program for government officials, researchers, and other professionals in ocean policy, as well as professors or graduate students who are interested in ocean affairs from developing countries. The Academy also intends to establish a close network among professionals and scholars, thus seeking a variety of cooperative methods such a s the development intergovernmental policies. Through this program, participants will be able to learn and understand the modern law of the sea and critical international and regional ocean-related issues.
